“I’ve spent my whole career traveling to New York, Alabama everywhere,” says Reid. “It’s better to have high quality pieces that really fit you well than just a lot of clothes taking up space,” Reid says. When paring down his closet, he asks himself what he would take on a two week trip if he had to pack right then.

Before the co chairs went up to the microphone, School Board President Alan Karpick denounced a social media post from the previous weekend regarding the committee. He said, “Some of you may have seen some posts on social media, one specifically attacking one of our co chairs over the weekend. Not only is the content of these posts incomplete, inaccurate, and misleading, but it creates unproductive distraction to what we believe is vitally important work addressing issues of race taken on by the leadership of this committee and our schools.”.
“When covid hit it was difficult for us to bring anyone together and everyone was so inundated with lots of information coming out about how to survive and keep their business open that we retired the series,” Coleman Hekeler said. “Now, we are planning on bringing it back virtually every other Wednesday. We are offering the chance for chamber members in the health and wellness field to offer a webinar on a topic that might be valuable to the community at large.
The Work Group met on March 13th to identify a “top ten” topics to work on in 2019. The list includes a number of issues being addressed by the IPM Policy Review process, reviewing City planting lists, pollinator habitat map and data on protection efforts, engaging neighborhood associations and public institutions in education efforts, exploring “adopt a” programs for public lands, and collaborating with the Gardens Network. The group also discussed planning for National Pollinator Week is June 17 23, 2019.
